GUIDELINES for the Brazos Section ISA Scholarship Program

Following are the guidelines for the ISA – Brazos Section Scholarship Program for the 2022 academic school year, as approved by the Board of Directors. The scholarship is $2000 dollars paid out in $500 dollar awards after each semester or 2 quarter completed ($1000 / year total) AND supporting documentation presented (grades above 2.5 GPA & area of study not changed from that awarded without approval of ISA scholarship committee).

  1. Scholarships are awarded to successful applicants who will attend an accredited technical school, college, or university as an undergraduate in the Fall and Spring 2022 semesters as a full- or part-time student.
  2. Applicant must be a resident of Brazoria County or a dependent of a member of the ISA Brazos Section.
  3. Applicant is encouraged submit an essay of no less than 500 words (typed) describing his/her future goals and the contribution that a scholarship would make in achieving those goals.
  4. Applicant must NOT be a recipient of any other ISA Brazos Section scholarships in the current or the previous fiscal year. The ISA Brazos Section scholarship will not be awarded to the same person in consecutive years.
  5. The applicant should submit an official copy of his recent high school or college transcript.
  6. The applicant can submit a letter of recommendation from an individual familiar with the student (e.g. a teacher, coach, or minister) but not related (not a family member or guardian) to him/her.
  7. The applicant can submit other supporting documentation to support their application such as; correspondent courses, science fair project report, scout records, volunteer projects, etc.
  8. The applicant can list any academic honors, civic honors, or awards they have received.
  9. The applicant is encouraged to attend the scholarship award meeting of the ISA Brazos Section. (Location to be announced)
  10. All scholarship payments will be submitted directly to the college or university where the scholarship recipient is enrolled to pay for normal tuition, enrollment fees, and textbooks for the specified school year (to avoid scholarship being considered income as per US tax law).ISA – International Society of Automation

Deadline for Application 

To be considered the application and associated documents must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2023.  Scholarships will be awarded to applicants based upon the quality of *essay, high school or college grades, accomplishments, and a Letter of Nomination.  For questions, please send your questions via email to scholarships@isabrazos.com.
